Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of Brindisi on Via Santa Lucia, Pizzeria Romanelli stands out as a beloved local gem for lovers of authentic Italian pizza and fast, flavorful bites. This bustling pizzeria and takeaway spot expertly blends the rich traditions of Italian cuisine with a lively, welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel part of the community.

Romanelli’s menu focuses on two standout specialties: their impeccably crafted pizzas and the irresistible “le fritte” – a selection of fried delights that have become a signature among locals and visitors alike. Reviewers often praise the perfect dough—light, airy, and with just the right crisp on the edges—setting the foundation for toppings that burst with fresh, genuine Italian flavors. Among the must-tries is the famed “Fritta farcita,” a unique fried treat that intriguingly combines the essence of pizza inside a golden, crispy envelop. It’s a flavor experience that puzzles and delights, described by one guest almost as “pizza in a doughnut,” captivating both the taste buds and curiosity.

The lively, familial energy that fills the space is just as memorable as the food. Customers find themselves drawn into warm exchanges, hearty laughs, and the hum of convivial gatherings, often led by the enthusiastic “mama behind the desk” whose big smile and spirited voice add to the pizzeria’s charm. It’s a place where locals queue up eagerly, a true mark of authentic quality, and visitors quickly feel at home amidst the buzz and friendly chaos.

Beyond the vibrant dining experience, Pizzeria Romanelli offers a unique added value for travelers: an upstairs apartment owned by the same family. As one guest fondly recounts, the accommodation is spotless, thoughtfully appointed with family-friendly amenities, and provides a cozy retreat right above one of the city’s favorite pizza spots—ensuring guests can savor Romanelli’s culinary delights anytime during their stay.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack on the go or settling in for a casual meal with friends, Pizzeria Romanelli promises delicious, honest food that captures the soul of Brindisi. Their combination of irresistible pizza, standout fried specialties, and a bustling, warm atmosphere make it more than just a meal—it’s an authentic slice of Italian life.

For anyone venturing through Brindisi, this pizzeria isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a site to savor, celebrate, and remember long after the last bite.

It's a great spot, frequented by locals to grab a quick snack or take a bigger order for a takeout. The locals mainly go for the 'le fritte' section of the menu, and they know what they do. We have been there 3 times. First time we had only pizzas, Next visit we took pizzas and the 'Fritta farcita' from the 'le fritte' section. We did not manage to eat it on the spot as after the pizzas we had no space left for the fritta farcita - we put it to the fridge overnight and ate cold in the morning - it was amazing. On the third visit we took a huge sandwich (served cold and delicious) and again the Fritta farcita - this time we ate it hot and oh my - this is really it! The dough on the fritta is so different in taste and structure from the one on pizza, but it is really great. Now, don't get me wrong - the pizzas in there are great too - mind that the folks there do not try to save on ingredients - the pizza is full and compared to other places will get your stomach filled a lot quicker. The staff is very positive, open and will make you smile. Whenever we will come back to Bridisi, we will DEFINITELY go back to Pizzeria Romanelli

Magnificent place with wonderful atmosphere: big smiles and loud voices from the mama behind the desk . Excellent pizzas and fries. The queue was long with locals which is a sign that the food is great. Get a draught beer with the pizza - impeccable combo .

Romanelli’s is a Brindisi classic. The dough is just perfect and it’s hard to explain. Just get the fritta. I honestly haven’t tried most of the rest of the menu because it’s too good.

Is it pizza in a doughnut? Or donut flavored pizza? Who cares, try the fritta like everyone else and decide for yourself. We stumbled upon this bustling hole in the wall one evening and returned the next night. No, it’s not the most amazing pizza you’ll ever have. But it’s genuine, unique, and full of energy from the delightful staff to everyone in line, grabbing a bite, or on a date outside. People watching at is finest, in something of a good food desert (sorry, it’s true Brindisi) Romanelli stands out as something legit.

This place is a must for everyone that wants to see Brindisi. Special kind of pizza fritta. There are no tables inside. This is a take away restaurant. You can also buy drinks and some special beer. Outside you have to find a place to eat your pizza fritta. Be carefull, the pizza fritta is hot and the mozarella is liquid and is down in the pizza.
